Blog about fashion , work , lifestyle and life in Dubai

I studied with her, worked with her, then met her again in Dubai ..her is Mouna founder of IZIL all natural cosmetics Argan oil based products.
So yesterday I was invited to her blogger event.
Sometimes you think you know your country until you discover some very weird things you’d have never thought of. My first inspiration was this sort of shells women in Morocco use to whiten their faces. When added to a bit of lemon and left sitting for about 24hours, the shell is releasing its white powder. Apparently, this is one of the main whitening agents the Sahrawi women use to keep their faces white and ensure that they get married one day. Mouna is selling this “Fair and Lonely” or “The single shell” at her shop! By the way don't think you could just grab it from the beach, it needs to be a female shell!
Then there was this blue powder that Mouna mixed with Argan oil and massaged over our arms. This is apparently another mix to get chalk white skin. I was more thinking it can be a good product to turn myself into a Smurf and scare my kids. Mouna you owe me a Manicure for this one by the way!
While I was there I also tried to fix my skin problems. Coming to Dubai I developed a weird skin tightness each time I would wash my face with water. Forget all soaps and any other harsh agent or my skin will go all in red patches. So I got a nice package from IZIL and today I turned myself into a cosmetic lab technician and started mixing oils and distilled waters.
I tried first the almond oil based soap. At first, I got so scared I’d get a super red blotch on my face while I really really need my face these days! But the good news it passed the test of my skin! Like a charm nothing no red no tightness amazing!! I’ll be a customer for that one for sure.
Then I mixed Argan oil and Almond oil ( nothing exploded as yet) and applied this mix generously on my face. Well, I had to go directly to sleep not to hear some nice comments on why my face looked like a Moroccan tagine or something in this sense. But the Moroccan tagine the day after was really nice! I mean my face looked like I had a 10 hours sleep!
I can’t say if I will be religiously following this routine but at least for now I really liked the tests!
